gige vision® is an interface standard for high-performance industrial cameras. it provides a framework for transmitting high-speed video and control signals over standard gigabit ethernet networks. gige vision compatible cameras can transfer data as fast as 100 mb/s over cable lengths of 100 feet or more.
matlab supports digital cameras that follow the gige vision standard through the image acquisition toolbox™. by supporting gige vision within matlab® and simulink®, users are able to integrate standard cameras into their workflows to capture live video and images for processing. the toolbox supports gige vision standard 2.1.
